  1. Really disappointed. My understanding is that it isn’t BYD but the fact that they outsourced the servicing to a 3rd party who see an opportunity to overcharge. $600 services every second year is ridiculous on a low cost ev

  2. While it’s disappointing that Australia gets shafted with last minute changes to the warranty it is still very competitive as most of the competitors only offer a short bumper to bumper warranty.

    It is a surprising move however as BYD haven’t got much brand recognition outside of China, and with the stigma around Chinese products I would have thought their bumper to bumper warranty would be more generous.

    Edit: Forgot to mention that BYD outsource their services & sales in Australia, so it is likely not the fault of BYD but Evdirect or whoever it is that has the BYD partnership.
