The number of Canadians looking to buy electric vehicles (EVs) in 2022 has hit its highest level yet, according to the latest [EY Mobility Consumer Index](https://www.ey.com/en_gl/automotive-transportation/mobility-consumer-index-wave-3). It shows that 46% of respondents planning to buy a car will choose an EV, up 11% from 2021.

  1. I have one EV now and a second on order. Given our daily commutes and annual mileage it was a no brainer. Also fuel prices won’t stay low forever but neither will the subsidies for EVs. Including my current and ordered car the gov will have paid me around 25k Cdn. Then factor in fuel…

    The jump in popularity was when fuel hit 2$ a litre in early summer. It will be interesting to see if the OEMs can deliver within the order windows promised for your locked in rate
