You’re an auto journalist who can’t drive a stick shift? This is the question I’ve been bombarded with by readers, enthusiasts and people within the automotive media world. Then they see me walk. Don’t forget, Ford is still firmly planted in the present, launching new cars and dedicating time to an all-new Ford Performance division. But what about the future? Ford likes to talk about what they’re doing looking way ahead, and we had an opportunity to check some of that out recently at Ford’s Dearborn campus. Right now, Ford is in the data collection stage. Lots of these vehicles have new technology on them designed to make driving easier, safer, or more enjoyable. It’s hard to pick a single technology that stands … [Read more…]

I, for one, welcome our new self-driving car overlords. There’s been a lot of hand-wringing over the coming advent of self-driving cars. I think many of the fears are overblown. The move to autonomous vehicles are actually great for those of us who, eat, breathe, and have sweaty dreams about motorcycles.
