  1. True, EVs can and mostly charge off peak.

    What troubles CA right now are ACs.

    There are plenty of people in NorCal who rarely run their AC, but this week they do.

    There are also plenty who didn’t have an AC yet, and are installing them because this heat wave won’t be the last.

    And then there are all the existing ACs that run earlier, harder, and longer into the night.
