  1. I believe the terms of the law say that the rebates will be issued with preference to low-income applicants first. So they will award all low-income rebates from the application period first, and then disburse the rest as funds allow.

I could be wrong though – I just remember that being a weird quirk I read about.

  2. I wanted to apply for this but the only EV I could find and afford when I was buying a couple of months ago was across the state line. Can’t get a rebate for buying an EV in Illinois if there are no EV’s available to buy in Illinois 🙁

  3. Think the current rebate cycle, payments won’t go out until the end of the month. If I read it right. Oh and there is like 17million available for this program so those measly numbers aren’t even touching the pool of cash.

  4. They denied me for buying it a month too early. Yeah, the dealer really sold me with the rebate news and now feeling extra fucked since I qualify as low income with dependents. Last year my small business only brought in 13,000. Dirt poor but finally raising back after Covid. It basically what convinced me to take the plunge since that chunk of money would help immensely. Hopefully I can qualify for at least the Federal rebate for this tax year.

Asked for information about an appeal and the response I received was rude, didn’t offer the contact information and blatantly condescending.
