  1. This is silly. Just having a good overnight rate would be incentive enough and I’m not talking about $0.02 difference and jacking up the non off-peak rates. You will NEVER offset the costs of a 2nd meter and install costs.

  2. Won’t change anything really. By the time these actually go into effect, the EV specific rates will have risen to the point where it doesn’t matter.

    Also, you’re not eligible for any EV rates if you have solar.

  3. You can get an EV charging schedule today without having a second meter. The rates are pretty much the same, 25c at night.

    EV-B is 25c off-peak, 60c peak (separate meter)

    EV2-A is 25c off-peak, off, 56c peak (no separate meter)

    EV-B is only cheaper on some shoulder hours, e.g. 9pm-midnight (36c, instead of 45c), but from 7am to 2pm EV-B is more expensive (36c, instead of 25c)
