The image of an electric bus from Milan was quite popular, so I am presenting you the Solaris Trollino 18 – an electric trolleybus with additional set of batteries allowing it to travel off-the-grid. The Solaris’ dog mascot this time has a leach – synonymous with their trolleybuses

  1. This should be more popular. Build overhead wires for the city center part of the route. Charge while driving that part, and use batteries to drive out towards the suburbs. Saves costs by building overhead wires for only the most busiest roads, while also saving in by needing smaller batteries in Busses and avoiding downtime from charging.

  2. Isn’t it ironic, that trolleybusses were ahead of the time – especially in East Europe?
