If you’re looking for the best knock-down, drag-out competition you need to look no further than trucks. For the past 30 plus years, the Ford F-150 was the most popular car sold in the United States. Ford sold more than them than Toyota has Camrys. Trucks are a big deal. Check out the stories below, and see our original story about it.
Earlier this year, I had the opportunity to spend a few minutes behind the wheel of one of the most interesting trucks of the year. The 2016 Nissan Titan XD is all new, and powered by a 5.0L V8 Cummins diesel engine. The goal of the truck is to appeal to the people who want more than a half-ton pickup, but don’t need the capability of a full-three-quarter-ton. Nissan claims … [Read more…]
We’re already big fans of the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon here, but the version we are the most excited for is the version powered by the 2.8L Duramax diesel. We had a chance to drive it recently, and will be featuring that write-up shortly, but in the meantime we learned something even bigger; the fuel economy. Opting for the diesel in two-wheel drive configuration … [Read more…]
Back in the dark days of the automotive industry, the folks at Cummins were working with Ram Trucks on a new engine to power their full-size pickup truck. They had most of the details worked out. I recently spent a week in one for another site (review coming here soon), and I enjoyed the amount of technology and luxury that the truck had to offer. It’s hard to imagine they’d go higher, but they did. For 2016, you’ll now be able to … [Read more…]
Some people have called it a “Raptor Fighter,” but the folks at Ram Trucks don’t want you to think of it as such. So what exactly is the 2015 Ram Rebel that debuted at the 2015 North American International Show? Here’s why it’s being made and why we think it’ll sell well. If you drive by any truck dealership in the midwest, you’ll often notice that there’ll be at least … [Read more…]
Happy holidays, everyone! As a gift to all of you from the folks at Ram Trucks, here’s a teaser holiday video for the new truck set to be unveiled at the 2015 North American International Auto Show in Detroit next month. Looks like the Truck Wars aren’t dead yet! Included with the video is the text “Tough jobs call for tougher tools. We’re breaking out a new one this … [Read more…]
Little trucks are back in a big way, or at least that’s what General Motors thinks. Brining back the GMC Canyon and Chevrolet Colorado after a multi-year hiatus has caused a lot of buzz in the truck industry. It’s not difficult to be best-in-class, because the primary competition hasn’t been majorly refreshed in millennia, but how does the Colorado compete above its class? … [Read more…]
