  1. $40k before incentives for a good sized SUV with 260 miles of range and a 82 kWh battery. This is great progress and for $32,500 after incentives is great value.

And this is just VWs first attempt of a BEV platform, their BEVs will continue to get better and cheaper!

  2. Definitely a good deal at 32500(31K in California). I hope there is adequate volume. I hope they can sell at least 10K per month.

  3. This is a decently spec’d car for the price, but still needs to be about a few thousand cheaper for optimal OTD pricing to be more favorable to an ICE SUV like the RAV4. (A potential point of sale EV tax credit would greatly help with this). People will say this doesn’t compare favorably to something like the Model Y but the specs here are enough for the vast majority of shoppers. Good job, VW! These are the type of cars we need to boost EV adoption.

  4. I might be in the market for a new car in 2022. This ID4 is the first electric car that made me even consider an electric car. It doesn’t seem like a huge leap from a “regular” car and I really like that. I’ll have to test drive it for sure, but I have a feeling that the test drive will make want it even more over a gas car. 260 miles is a great range and based on the reviews it seems that it charges pretty fast. Only thing holding me back is the price, but I know that all reason will fly out the window when I’m sitting at the dealer’s desk after test driving it.

  5. 8-12 months for a toyota PHEV, this may steal some thunder from folks who definitely dont want a tesla

  6. [97mpge combined](https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/PowerSearch.do?action=noform&path=1&year1=2021&year2=2021&make=Volkswagen&baseModel=ID.4&srchtyp=ymm&pageno=1&rowLimit=50) similar to the [2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E RWD Extended](https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/Find.do?action=sbs&id=43605), [2021 Tesla Model X Performance (20in Wheels) ](https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/Find.do?action=sbs&id=43404) and [2020 Tesla Model S Performance (21in Wheels) ](https://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/Find.do?action=sbs&id=42284)

The ID4 has a relatively large gap between 104mpge city and 89mpg highway. Which indicates that aerodynamics are not great at higher speeds.

  7. has there been any indication on the range for the AWD? I have one on order for a Q4 (hopefully!) delivery.
